IoTA on the road

• The Sussex centre of the Institute of Transport Administration will be out on the road this summer to promote membership benefits to everyone with an interest in the transport industry The IoTA team will also have details of the new Certificate in Transport course, which the institute is running with the Transport Tutorial Association.

Venues will include the Parham Rally, Parham Park, nr Storrington on 17-18 June; Downs Steam Rally, South Harting, nr Petersfield on 1-2 July; Ardingly Festival of Transport on 15-16 July; Hellingly Festival of Transport on 26-28 August; and the Amberley Chalk Pits Museum, 17 September.

Fire Czech

• Py-ros '95, the seventh International Fair of Fire Fighting Technology, will be held in Brno, Czech Republic on 21-24 June.

Accidental brief

• A one-day conference on reducing commercial vehicle accidents will cover costs and causes, driver training, and how the police, LAs and society see them before closing on how cutting accidents boosts profits. It will be held on 11 July at the University of Huddersfield.

• Transport will be a feature of the Royal Bath and West Show on 31 May-3 June at Shepton Mallet. Exhibitors will include the Road

Haulage Association, Citroen and Cannington College, Bridgewater which will show its Land Rover converted to run on bio-diesel.

• The International Public Transit Expo is scheduled for 7-9 October at the Anaheim Convention Centre, California-70% of the stand space is already booked. The triennial show is the world's largest show devoted to public transport.

• BEN—Motor & Allied Trades Benevolent Fund—is holding a series of summer fundraising events at its Lynwood residential centre in Sunningdale, Berks. • Pira International's 1995 Update seminar on 8 June will look at the practical issues that have arisen since the RIDIADR changes governing the way dangerous goods must be carried were introduced on 1 January.
