II The trial of Merseyside haulier Paula Fenney, who denies operating a vehicle without an 0-licence, has been adjourned for a fortnight by Wigan Magistrates. Fenney has already admitted a series of offences including using insurance certificates with intent to deceive.

• Spice and rice merchants SPL of Oldham has received a formal warning about maintenance standards from North Western DLA John Levin. The company has a restricted licence for 15 vehicles and 20 trailers.

• A Hull Industrial Tribunal has ordered Humberside haulier Steve Brown to make a redundancy payment of £340 to lorry driver Jack Ketley. Ketley lost his job when Brown's 0-licence was revoked_

• A Leeds Industrial Tribunal has ordered Warehouse & Distribution Services to pay Mark Jones £2,922.01 and Alan Marsden £2,998.67 in redundancy pay, unpaid wages, holiday pay and damages for breach of contract. The men lost their jobs when the company ceased to trade.
