Chris Young In the MAN 19.403 he drives for Tom Nichol, out of Aldridge near Birmingham. He liked the way the exhaust brake worked at the top of the brake pedal but found the gear shift very stiff. "The mirrors are noticeably lower than on the MAN," he said. "I can see over the top of them so they don't create a blind

spot on the nearside.

"It pulls all right for 380hp considering the all-up weight is 41 tonnes,'' he added. With the gear lever folded forward and the seat down movement across the cab is a lot easier. I don't think I could get used to the seating position; once the ignition is turned off it's too low for comfort."
