Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

A LTHOUGH the number of exhibit-I tors showing vehicles and trailers is not large, there will, nevertheless, be a wide range of machines and appliances available for inspection. In the main they will comprise types which have already proved their suitability in the agricultural field.

A feature of the trailers to be shown en Stand 436 E, by 'Alley Trailers, Ltd., Burnham Market, Norfolk, is that they are of all-steel construction and jig built, spare parts being available and fitted as n the case of a motor vehicle Four models will be shown, including a 12-ft. platform low-loader, a three-way tipper forming a recent addition to the range, a 9-ft. platform Tow-loader, a modified version of the standard 9-ft. model, and a four-wheeled model which can be converted to a twowheeled type in less than 30 minutes. Normally, the three-way tipper, which is hydraulically operated, works from the hydraulic system on the tractor, but where the tractor is not so equipped, the trailer is provided with a hand pump for manual operation.

Two Battery Electrics On Stand 194 F, to be occupied by Austin Crompton Parkinson Electric Vehicles, Ltd., Longbridge, Birmingham, will be seen examples of Morrison-Electricar battery electrics, the 10-cwt. and one 20-cwt. model having van bodies, and a second 20-cwt. machine will be shown with milk retailer's body. All the vehicles on this stand will be supplied by Wales and Edwards, Ltd., Morris House, Wyle Cop, Shrewsbury, local M orrisonElectricar distributor.

No fewer than 10 vehicles will be shown by Commer Cars, Ltd., Luton (Stand 201 F), the range being a comprehensive one from the Commer 8-cwt. Supervan to a Commer 7-ton forwardcontrol tipper. Carmichael livestock container bodies will be shown mounted on a 3-4-ton Superpoise chassis which has a normally mounted engine of 80 b.h.p., anO on one of the Commer underfloor-type chassis in which the developed b.h.p. of the engine is 109. This concern will, also be showing a Karrier Bantam 2-tonner carrying a mobile-shop-type body. A feature of the chassis is its small turning circle, which is 30 ft. It should be mentioned that the outstanding feature of the Carmichael body is that it is quickly removable from the chassis, so making the machine available for other types of haulage. Vehicles with van, lorry, generalpurpose cattle truck, and encHipping bodies, will be shown on Dodge chassis by Dodge Bros. (Britain), Ltd., Mortlake Road, Kew Gardens, Surrey, on Stand 204 F. The vehicles to be shown are the new Kew-built range, which incorporates a number of new features

concerned with general styling, safety and improvea efficiency.

An excellent example of a forestry tractor will be the main feature on Stand 483 E, to be occupied by Douglas Equipment, Ltd., Regent Street, Cheltenham. This vehicle is of the four-wheeldrive type and is powered by an A.E.C. 9.6-litre oil engine developing 125 b.h.p. at 1,800 r.p.m. It will be shown complete with land-anchor and winch and a 25-ft. jib crane. The raising and lowering of the jib is carried out by hydraulic means controllable from the driver's cab. A second exhibit by the concern will be a six-wheeled timber carriage designed for loads of from 15-20 tons.

20-ton Timber Tractor Fodens, Ltd., Elworth Works, Sandbach, Stand 479 E, will be exhibiting two of its range of vehicles. One of these will be the standard 0.G.46 model powered by a 4LK Gardner engine, and the other a special timber tractor for hauling 20-ton loads. The winding drum of the timber tractor is operated from a special power take-off on the gearbox. Two speeds of 17 ft. and 60 ft. per minute respectively are available at the idling speed of the engine, which is 400 r.p.m.

Nine vehicles will be staged on Stand 173 A, which will be occupied by the Ford Motor Co., Ltd., Dagenham, Essex. Of these, two will be Fordson vans, and five Fordson Thames models.
