road wins funding A £54m RELIEF road for Weymouth in Dorset is one of the largest road schemes in the government's £1.9bn local transport budget for 2004/2005.
The budget also includes money for the bus and railway networks, but there are several other road schemes in the pipeline.
As well as the 6km single-carriageway A354 relief road at Weymouth. there will be a bypass for the village of Isham on the A509 between Kettering ai Wellingborough in Northants a: further work on the A1056 Not Tyneside Northern Gateway.
The budget also includes fun to replace the Edwardian viadt at Upperton Road in Leicesi with two new bridges.
Local transport plans a submitted by all English lo( transport authorities outsi London. The £1.9bn total spe is £200.000 up on 2003.
