As the prime purpose of the Institute of Transport is the scientific study of questions relating to transport, this organization takes a major interest in transport education and the holding of examinations. Additionally, several scholarships and grants are available through the Institute, the address of which is

Regarding preparation for examinations, the Institute itself does not hold courses but recommends attendance at evening classes in the area in which the student is situated. Where this is not possible or where no class is available, tuition may be undertaken by correspondence. Courses are conducted by the Transport Tutorial Committee, c/o School of Business, Ealing Technical College, St. Mary's Road. London, W.5, and by the Pitman College of Transport, 29 Pitman House, Godalming, Surrey. Particulars should be obtained 'direct from these bodies.
