CONTRACTORS DOWN UNDER : Six Scammell 15-ft. 5,in,-whcelbase Contractor chassis/cab units are to be shipped c.k.d. to Western Australia for iron ore haulage duties. The Contractors will be fitted with A.E.C. 1100, 305 b.h.p. diesel engines, and will each haul a semi-trailer and a drawbar trailer giving a total payload of about 60 tons. They will have 30-ton rear bogie equipment and Fuller 15-speed manual gearboxes.
S C A MMELL DOUBLE EXPORT ORDERS: Export orders valued at well over £1,000,000 have been obtained by -Scanonell Lorries Ltd., of Watford. during the last three months of 1964—more than double the orders for the same period last year. The principal markets, for lorries and semitrailers, are South Africa, India. Australia, the Middle and Far East. Orders include one from Leyland Australia for 40 Routeman 11 chassis) cah units.
One Thousand Fleetlines: The 1,000th Fleetline double-deck bus chassis recently left Daimler's Radford factory. It is part of an order for 300 Fleetlines for Birmingham City Transport.
