Where to Buy your Supplies.

White and Poppe 1914 Catalogue.

We have received a copy of the NH catalogue issued by White and Poppe, Ltd., Lockhurst Lane, Coventry. Printed on art paper, this well-known maker's productions are illustrated therein with excellent. effect.

In addition to specifications of the company's useful range of engines, there is included much. interesting and informative matter devoted to paraffin fuel, engine lubrication, and rail-ear systems equipped with White and Poppe engines.

The company will be pleased to forward a copy to those interested.

Agents will no doubt find the catalogue a useful addition to their 1914 lists.

The Vapo Atomizer.

We have recently had brought before our notice a simple. device termed the " Vapo " atomizer, a fitting, which the makers claim, increases the efficiency of any jet carburetter from 15 to 30 per cent. it is marketed by Brown Bros., Great Eastern Street, London,

The atomizer has been designed to take the place -of the ordinary spigot jet., a type usually fitted in most carburetters, and its functions are : to (1) split up the fuel to very fine particles rendering it instantly volatile, and affording a perfectly homogeneous mixture ; (2) automatically to govern the fuel supply in such a waythat the mixture weakens as the speed of the engine increases.

So confident are the makers -of the satisfactory conditions of carburation which are ensured by fitting a. " Vapo " that, upon being notified by those interested upon which, type of carburetter it is required to test the fitting, an atomizer will bc forwarded for trial.

Ross Courtney Fittings.

This company's goods are well known throughout the industry, and quality and reliability sire characteristic features of "Ross Courtney practice.

We have recently been notified that this manufacturer is marketing a new form of petrol filter. The body is made of aluminium, and suitable lugs are also cast on for the attachment of the fitting to any part of the vehicle. The gauze and strainer incorporated are easily removed for cleaning purposes.

Other productions include : the " Chain Lightning" grease gun, with which a chassis may be lubrica'eA with grease, where required, from end to end without. the operator touching the lubricant, even when refilling the gun ; the Ross Courtney patent terminal. which enables a sound electrie joint to be made without tools or solder ; petrol gauges of various types, suitable for any depth of tank, and many kinds of spring cup greasers and oilers.

A two-cylinder hand or power pump for tire inflation is also manufactured.

The company solicits inquiries for all kinds of screws, turned work cut from solid bar, and stampings.

0.5. Speedometer.

We are notified by the 0.8. Speedometer Co., whose London -offices are situate at 186 and 188, Shaftesbury Avenue, W.C., that, in response to the. growing demand for recording instruments suited for both the industrial and pleasure type of vehicle, they have a full range of the latest models of 0.S. speedo

meters, hub-cap milometers, recording speedometers, and tachometers, and also that a complete stock of spare parts is carried.

The company is in a position to undertake the fitting and repairs to any of their instruments with expedition, their own fitters being available for the Lon don district, and, in the rnatter of country orders, full instructions are despatched with every instrument.

It will no doubt be recalled by many of our readers that the U.S. Manograph (an instrument for recording indicating diagrams of internal-combustion engines) emanates from this house.

The instrument may be ordered as a recorder for a single-cylinder engine, or a quadruple type for recording diagrams on four-cylinder motors, thus enabling a comparison of the working conditions of the engine readily to be made.

Ruthardt Magnetos.

The enclosed type of magneto is a very necessary accessory on a vehicle which is subjected to exposed working ; the internal park of the instrument must, of course, be kept free from contact with water, dirt and other foreign matter.

This company claims to he the pioneer of totallyenclosed magnetos, and every machine turned out is supplied with a 12 months guarantee. From the illustration it will be noticed that the magnets are superimposed, instead of being side by side, with a gap between. By this means the whole of the magnetic field passes to the central portion of the armature, which tends to afford a higher electrical efficiency.

Moreover, it is found in practice that a more compact :Ind, indeed, lighter magneto than is usual with sonic other makes can be fitted for any particular class of engine. A 'special feature of the ltuthardt magneto is the automatic advance coupling, by which means an equal variation of the armature winding is relatively attained with the magnetic field, and, although-the contact breaker may be fixed at any point of maximum efficiency, the spark automaticay advances in relation to the speed.

This automatic-advance coupling is fitted as an extra, hut affords a consummation much to be desired, and is well worth the additional cost..
