CO The receipts of the National Steam Car Co., Ltd., for the week ended 21st December, 1913, were 23960. This shows an increase of 1627 over the corresponding period of last year.

The receipts of the Tramways (M.E.T.) Omnibus Co., Ltd., for the week ended 20th December, 1913, were 28987, and for the Gearless Omnibus Co., Ltd., 2462. These show an increase of 2232 and a decrease of i;30 respectively, as against the previous week.

The Westminster City Council has formally adopted the recommendation of its Highways Committee, arid in future motor vehicles will be generally substituted for horses in the Council's work.

Todmorden and Abingdon have to be recorded as towns which employ motorbuses to tow steam fireengines. The claim of expediency may exist, but we doubt if the arrangement is desirable or safe.

Kettering U.D.C. has referred back the subject of motor fire-fighting appliances to its General Purposes Committee. It is probable that two motor fire-engines will be purchased, in the near future, and that a scheme for a new station will be adopted at the same time.
