HARPERS WASTE Management expects to cut fuel bills by 3% under a managed tyre policy with ATS Euromaster. The waste removal and disposal specialist is having 45 CVs fitted with Michelin tyres; ATS will inspect tyre pressures and tread damage monthly.
Depot manager Kevin Maguire, says:"We're initially working with ATS Euromaster at two locations to demonstrate the fuel saving which can be achieved." MOST RED TRUCKS don't look so good, but I just love this colour!" says Steve Page, owner of pallet recycler Kingswood Pallets. The Bracknell-based firm has just taken delivery of this Euro-5 Volvo FH-400 4x2 tractor unit in Ferrari Red. Page made the early move to Euro-5 for several reasons; not least its green image. "I was really hoping for a government incentive, which hasn't happened so far, but [also] I was interested in re-sale value. If! run this for five years a Euro-5 truck will be worth far more when the time comes to trade it."
