Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

Keywords : Dundee, Amicus

THE COMPANY distributing cash machines on behalf of American firm NCR insists the manufacturer is not about to close its Dundee factory, putting eight drivers' jobs at risk.

The reassurance from Currie European's area manager Tom Young contradicts warnings from trade union Amicus that the plant is to close with the loss of 650 catering and cleaningjobs.

In January NCR said it planned to "realign its global Financial Self Service" operations. including proposals to "reduce manufacturing operations and shift the focus of the Dundee, Scotland facility to new product introductions and the delivery of high-complexity/ low-volume solutions". Amiens spokeswoman Catherine Bithell says: "I can confirm NCR is going to close and move to Hungary. It will happen this year. We are negotiating and fighting in every way we can."

But Young says: -It's still up in the air. but what I do know is that the whole production isn't closing down and it's not moving from Dundee. Their own people have yet to come to any agreement, [such as] how many people are going to be left and what quantities are going Lobe manufactured.

"We will just carry on as normal and until we hear anything different we will continue to do that.

Currie European has been distributing loads into Europe on behalf of NCR for 20 years.
