• Two tracking specialists have joined forces to offer an Internet-based global load-tracking system.
Application service provider Tracknet is using its Internet vehicle combined with VascoTrack's GSM/satellite V110 beacon to track vulnerable and valuable loads around the world from any Internet-linked PC. The new consortium claims that packages can be located to vitt* 10m.
Loads are tracked using the ORBCOM low-earth-orbit satette
net using VascoTrack's sears Wallet web site The monitoring system also provides information from cargo temperature and vehicle speed to engine hours and security data.
For specialist tracking, VascoTrack has launched the V501 beacon which is the size of a cigarette packet; it is designed to suit loads moving through harsh environmental conditions.
