to the North Western Deputy Licensing Authority last week to increase the radius of his B licence from 10-70 miles, Mr. J. Granville Dixon, for the British Transport Commission, described the applicant's accountants' certified figures, which bore only a rubber stamp signature, as "disgraceful."

The Authority endorsed Mr. Dixon's comment and said that he :would not have accepted the figures had the application been for increased tonnage.

WINDING-UP PETITION DISMISSED

tAA PETITION for the compulsory winding-up of Notts and Lines Transport, Ltd., Colwick Road, Nottingham, presented by Harry Smith, haulier, Bank Cottage, Spital Hall, Retford, Notts, was dismissed, by consent, by Mr. Justice Wynn-Parry in the Chancery Division on Monday.

Mr. H. H. Monroe, for petitioner, said the ease had been standing adjourned for a fortnight. Meantime. the petitioner and supporting creditors had been paid. He asked for the petition to be dismissed without costs.

Mr. M. Berkeley, for the Commissioners of Inland Revenue: "We have been paid and I agree."

The Judge: "There is an opposing creditor for £30,000. Does he not appear?"

Mr. Monroe replied that he was represented by Mr. Ralph Instone, who also represented the company.

TRADER WILL NOT CUT PRICES

AN interim undertaking not to sell Champion sparking plugs at cut prices had beeh given by Mr. John Charles Clark, Percy Road, Boscombe, proprietor of the Longlife Battery Depot, Charminster Road, Bournemouth. Mr. Justice Roxburgh was told in the Chancery Division on Friday.

The judge accordingly stood over until the trial of the action a motion by the Champion Sparking Plug Co,, Ltd., for an interim injunction.

Mr. Guy Aldous, Q.C., for the cornpany, said that the parties would consider the desirability of the action by Champion and a similar one by the Dunlop Rubber Co., Ltd., being tried simultaneously. Mr. Clark gave an interim undertaking in the Dunlop action also.
