Hand washing by robots

AN AUTOMATIC programmable chassis washing system designed for easy installation, operation and maintenance is now available from Concept Equipment of Strood.

The Chassisjet delivers 45 litres (10 gallons) at 2,000psi per minute. It is a factory prewired, piped and tested unit and with a minimum of parts.

It is available in two versions. The first is a fully programmable system offering up to 100 individually tailored programs to suit any chassis configuration. The microprocessor can be programmed to direct the cleaning robot to concentrate on particular areas, such as the axles or gear box.

Version two is a straight pass system with over-riding manual control.

Optional extras include: solvent pre-spray; detergent injection; hot water module; and hand-lance auxiliary jet.

The prototype model has been operating at London Transport's Cricklewood depot for over a year. Another six units have been ordered by LT. Concept Equipment (Sales), 6/10 Prospect Avenue, Strood, Kent ME2 3BZ.
