Paris Romford in 77 Minutes by Hillman's Airways.

In the week to November 17 Hillman's Airways carried 57 single-journey passengers an the Romford-Paris daily service, and three charter flights were made, one to HaWon, one to Dover, and One on a special tour.

In the week to November 24 the Rumford-Paris service carried 51 passeugers, the service being maintained despite the fogs. On November 19 the homewerd flight was made in the remarkable time of 1 hr. 17 mitts. During the week charter flights were made to Cardiff, Laindon and Dungeness. The Dungeness flight was for the Press, as was an aerial-photography flight made on November 24. Considering last week's weather the activity was well maintained.

B.A.N. Co.'s Big New Machine.

The British Air Navigation Co., Ltd., Heston Airport, last week took delivery of a Ford 4AT three-engined monoplane for luxurious charter flights and possible regular services. Wireless apparatus will be fitted. • Glasgow-Belfast: Altered Times.

Midland and Scottish Air Ferries, Ltd., Renfrew, advises, in connection with its twice-daily Glasgow-Belfast air service (of which times and fares were published in The Commercial Motor on November 17) that the afternoon departures are to be one hour earlier; Belfast (Aldergrove) and Glasgow (Renfrew) being left at 2 p.m.

Fast French Mail 'Planes Ordered: Top Speed 250 m.p.h.

The French authorities have ordered some Wibault-Penhot mail aeroplanes which will carry a pay-load of over 1,000 lb. at a maximum speed of 250 m.p.h., the petrol-tank range being about 600 miles. Higher flying speed is a factor which will make air travel in countries like Britain more attractive.

Another New-type Autogiro Built.

A. V. Roe and Co., Ltd., Newton Heath, Manchester, has produced a new type two-seater Autogiro for the Cierva Autogiro Co., Ltd., which is expected to be the forerunner of bigger machines for air-transport purposes. The Cierva type-C.30P, which has just been completed by Airwork, Ltd., was referred to in this paper on November 17.

Glasgow Scheme Abandoned.

The general-finance committee of Glasgow Corporation has decided to abandon in the meantime the suggestion for a municipal aerodrome. The decision was reached on the score of expense, the estimated cost being £110,000.

Redhill Aerodrome In Preparation.

If plans mature as at present expected a new aerodrome near Redhill, Surrey, with landing rurks of at least 700 yards in every direction will be ready for service early next summer The application to develop this laud WAS opposed by Godstone Rural District Council, but the aerodrome scheme was allowed to proceed after appeal to the

Ministry of Health. The altitude is about 200 ft., and the position, south of hills which in foggy weather obstruct the Continental rente to London, is likely to prove valuable.

Hull-Amsterdam Negotiations Concluded.

It is stated that the negotiations for the K.L.M. Hull-Amsterdam air service have been concluded and the service will commence next spring.

Bermuda-U.S.A.: An Anglo-American Imperial Airways, Ltd., hopes to establish next year in conjunction with Pan-American Airways, Inc., an air service between Bermuda and U.S.A.
