But real pride of place went to White Van Man. This year's main display on the front lawn of Goodwood House was dedicated to Renault's competition heritage (Including a rather rapid Kangoo van). A selection of the marque's Formula 1 cars was mounted on a breathtaking structure looking like the world's largest feather. However, Renault's UK van marketing people were determined not to be left out of the party, ensuring that the travel-stained business end of a Trafic van dominated the view. Next year is a celebration of Ford's centenary—we can sense the Transit being polished already.
