Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

vehicles on A -licence were sought. at Bristol, last week, by E. 1. Bennett and SODS, Valley Road. Frome. Mr. S. W. Nelson, Western Licensing Authority, was •told that the concern now had 15 A-licence lorries which earned £4L244 in the year ended last May, This was an increase of £5,058 on the previous year.

• Mr. T., D.. Corpe,. for Bennett's, said they bought. the Frome depot of British Road Services and this .had recently been converted into a store and warehouse for I.C.I., Ltd., on a long-term contract. About 600 tons of fertilizer would be kept there for delivery after being brought in by rail.

Six witnesses and eight letters supported the application. Several said

smaller lots of animal feeding stuffs were wanted, which meant more deliveries.

After an adjournment it was announced that Bennett's had come to an agreement with the objectors—the British Transport Commission, Western Transport, Ltd., and J. Edwards (Transport), Ltd. If the Authority agreed, there would be no opposition to two A-licence articulated outfits being granted, provided Bennett's undertook not to seek further customers for feeding stuffs, and to carry on the business exactly as at present.

Mr. Nelson congratulated the parties on their agreement and granted the application. This allowed quarried materials, fertilizers and mailings within 150 miles, and goods from the Frome warehouse within 25 miles.
