Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

A RECESSION in sulphlific acid

exports was reported at Manchester, last week, when W. H. Cowburn and Cowpar, Ltd., asked the North Western Deputy Licensing Authority to amend the conditions of the B licence covering their 43 vehicles and 42 trailers.

The company asked for the addition of "sulphuric acid for Thomas Bolton and Sons, Ltd., Widnes." It was stated that Bolton's had most of their acid carried by rail: but would find it useful to have Cowburn and Cowpar vehicles available to deal with any surplus caused by the recession. Rail traffic would not be affected.

Mr. J. R. Lindsay granted the application.
