Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

1B of the Drivers' Hours regulations in October 2011 and October 2012: *Allocation of time.

Currently if a driver does one minute and one second of driving it is counted as two minutes driving. But this will change to be counted as the single largest continuous activity within that minute. So if the driver finishes driving at 15 seconds then switches to other work for the rest of the minute the whole minute will be counted as other work.

*Digital signature

The legislation will make it clear about what a digital signature is. Currently all digital tachos will produce a signature, but from October 2011 it will be something that enforcement agencies can use to ensure a print out is genuine

*Paper

The regulations will introduce a specification for digital paper to ensure print outs remain legible for the required time.

*Locks

Previously a digital tachograph could only be locked 20 times so in the rental market where a truck may be used by a multitude of different customers previous driver's data could be accessed by every user of the vehicle. This limit has now been raised to 255 locks.

*Manual entry

Manufacturers will have the freedom to develop systems where manual entry is user friendly and intuitive. It also allows entries to be made in local time rather than LITC (coordinated universal time).

*Key task sensor unit

Currently it is possible to interfere with the key task sensor unit using magnets. This makes the tachograph record break time when the vehicle is actually being driven. Under Annex 1B one of the print outs will highlight that an event happened with the sensor unit.

*Calibration

If UTC time is incorrect a tacho calibration centre currently has to recalibrate the whole tachograph to change it under the new rules time can be changed without the need for a calibration.
