THE FTA will use the Commercial Vehicle Operator Show 2010 to showcase FA Gateway, which is an online reporting suite.

1111e Powell, general manager of TachoFTA, reveals the tool will be available for demonstrations on the FA's stand (number 5850).

At present the suite concentrates on tachograph reports, but Powell hopes to open it up to provide a broad range of reporting.

"The idea is to open it up to other opportunities because it gives operators the ability to drill down from the highest level at a glance to the lowest level of details.

"This means they can see if drivers are uploading their cards, the vehicle uploads are done on time or look at infringement reports," Powell says. "The operator can look at each individual depot and see how it's performing and then decide if they want a bit more detail on one particular depot They can then go right back to the beginning of the data we have and find out where the problems are at depot level."

When MT spoke to the FTA the gateway was still being trialled by eight operators, which had been using it for the last 12 months. These eight have been using the system and the four reports it creates. These four are: driver up load compliance, performance status league, performance status period and performance status trend, but Powell says the aim is with more operators using the system the FTA will be able to offer other reports in the future.

"What we are looking to do is get as much information as possible so the reports are giving the operator the information they need to address the infringements that are occurring," she adds.
