IOW IS the time for own ccount operators to dispense 4th underworked fleets and ire vehicles as required from auliers who have spare capaity.
The idea was put forward at meeting of the South Wales oad Haulage Association last reek by RHA national chairkan Jack Male.
He said both customer and perator would benefit from uch a scheme. For the ustomer, his capital commitkent on vehicles would disapear, and the money would ten be available for other
3mmitments.
The haulier would benefit .om increased fleet utilisaon.
Mr Male praised hauliers for leir adaptability.
"They have had to adapt to ieet changing market situaons and increased legislation ver the past few years," he Lid.
He felt sure that although wit-account operators had so adapted to meet changing gislation, they had not fully ken into account what the gislation meant in extra )sts.
Hauliers had diversified in any ways and Mr Male isured the audience that hen the economy got on the ove again, the country ould find a highly efficient id specialised road haulage dustry ready to move its muds.
