Export Thornycrolts.

At all times popular with the Crown Agents for the Colonies, we

learn that another 30 h.p. Thornycroft chassis, making four in all, is now in hand for the Government of Southern Nigeria, and that this further order is due to the satisfactory results that have been obtained with Thornycroft vehicles, amongst others, in that colony.

ArmstrongWhitworth.

We gave a full description, in our issue for the 23rd May last—following preliminary details in that for the 4th April, of the 28-32 h.p., 41ton Armstrong-Whitworth model. Since that date, as might have been anticipated, numerous inquiries and orders have been received by the motor department of the famous Tyneside works—Sir W. G. Armstrong-Whitworth and Co., Ltd., of Elswick. One of these vehicles, which was supplied to Messrs. T. and J. Bernard, brewers, of Edinburgh, for use in the Newcastle district, to meet the requirements of that firm's local agent, Mr. W. J. Morrison, is illustrated herewith. It is fitted with Dunlop solid tires throughout. and is engaged upon de

liveries within a 25-mile radius of Newcastle. The performance has, we learn, been highly satisfactory.

Two Views About Lacres.

Mr. W. 3. Moon, proprietor of the Aberdeen Sanitary Laundry, Bridge Street, St Blazey, appears to be well pleased with his Lacre van, which he purchased in the spring of last year. In the course of a letter concerning it, Mr. Moon writes : "It is going splendidly, having already paid for itself, and my business is doubled."

An owner in. another part of the country, Messrs. Marsden and Kay, of Preston, who own a 20 h.p. twoton Lacre, with deep sides and detachable sheet top, have recently reported about their machine, which they bought at the beginning of the present year,. that : "It is doing good service, having done two ordinary days work in one all the time."
