• NEC has agreed provisional terms for acquiring LEP International, the freight forwarding operation of the ailing LEP Group.
NEC wants to extend its range of services to provide "one stop shopping" for its customers." We are checking the books to see whether this is a viable purchase towards that goal," says the company. It is too early to have definite ideas, but we would hope that there would not have to be large-scale job losses."
LEP International employs about 6,000 staff worldwide.
