• York Transport Engineering is equipping its nine UK centres to carry out wheelbase modifications on 38-tonne artic units to take advantage of the 16,5m combination length due to take effect on 1 January.
York says that type approval will be simplified if tractors are extended to a manufacturer's standard longer wheelbases.
