From Long and Co come manual and automatic versions of the 1000/4 water-jet blaster delivering 3.5gal per min at 1100 psi .
The unit is fully canopied and is fitted with a 240V singlephase motor. Diesel or petroldriven units are also available. In manual form it comes complete with 30ft hose, gun, lance and two jets. The automatic remote-control version gives a choice of selection of two degrees of detergent concentration.

'0' ring kits
Hydraulic Equipment Supermarkets have introduced a range of '0' ring kits which are supplied in purpose-built boxes.
In all, there are five kits covering ring diameters from :'in. to 24,in. and section widths from toin.
Standard rings are manufactured from rubber, though other materials such as Viton can be specified. PTFE spiral back-up rings covering the same size ranges are also available. Prices: from £4.75 to £10.51 with quantities from 180 to 775 per box.

Bolt-locking seal
A specially formed nylon seal that can be slipped over the threads of any bolt up to -tin. diameter to provide thread sealing, locking and insulation when the bolt is tightened down is produced by Precision Screw and Manufacturing.
The Nyltite fastener is forced into the threads as the bolt is tightened and cannot spread Out from under the screw head: it will resist attack by salt water, refrigerants, alkalis, acids and most solvents, and is vibration proof.

Transmitter receiver
The Murphy Mate, a compact transmitter/receiver which can be carried in the pocket or strapped into position in a cab, is fully transistorized. It has a superheterodyne receiver and a lowpower transmitter with an associated modulator amplifier. An electro-magnetic unit in a separate case combines the functions of loudspeaker and microphone. A choice of three channels is available.
It is powered by Deac rechargeable batteries, measures x Sin. x 3in. and weighs 31b.

Spray gun
Greater output and improved atomization are provided by the 11 in fan of the latest Barracuda 230 spray gun introduced by Binks-Bullows. Special nozzles have enabled standard 230 spray guns to be upgraded for syphonfeed applications, notably for light vehicle refinishing.
The nozzles are manufactured from hardened steel. Internal profiling provides an even flow of paint at a high rate with the minimum turbulence, and this has increased the venturi effect necessary for syphon-feed spraying. The result is that more paint is made available at the nozzle for atomization without a proportional increase in air pressure.
The output of the model 230 is boosted on syphon-feed up to 300 cc of paint per minute. Tests carried out with refinishing paints show that at an atomizing air pressure of 60 psi it produces a fine spray pattern of up to llin. diameter.
Equipped with Barracuda nozzles, the spray gun is available from the company's national network of industrial distributors and car refinishing stockists.
Grinding discs
From Finishing Aids and Tools come Finaids flap discs made of a flexible nylon support plate with radially spaced slots into which abrasive cloth laminations are inserted. The laminations fan out around the support face and provide continually fresh cutting edges as the disc wears.
Suitable for both ferrous or non-ferrous grinding, the discs are available in two sizes, 110mm and 165mm diameter, Existing users of standard mod can upgrade their guns to new specification by fitting set which is available from same outlets. A spray comprises a-materials nozzle, nozzle, stainless-steel val nozzle gasket and needle va packing.
