Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

Motor tractors are to be purchased by the 'Pembrokeshire Territorial Army Association in order to equip the artillery units of the county and to enable horse haulage to be almost wholly dispensed with.

The Association held a meeting a few days ago, when Major-General Sir F. C. Meyrick, CB., C.M.G., who was reelected chairman, presided. At this meeting it was agreed that the sugges

ton of the War Department that artillery units should be mechanicalized should be acted upon. Arrangements were made, therefore, for the immediate return of horse equipment and for the disposal of animals owned by the units. The type of tractor to be acquired will not be decided upon until the January meeting of the Association.

It is understood that one tractor per gun and one extra tractor per battery, as reserve, will be needed, and the first purchase is likely to comprise nine tractors.
