• The Freight Transport Association has published its 1993 training brochure.
Many of the training services offered are available in-house; others are based at the FTA's Management Training College at Wadhurst, East Sussex. The courses are designed to help FTA members take advantage of the Single European Market and cope with EC legislation from Brussels.
Also from the FTA is an updated edition of its Drivers Handbook.
New sections cover the 1991 Road Traffic Act, the carriage of dangerous substances, and red routes. Emphasis has been given to topics such as defensive driving and driving offences; the handbook costs £3.75.
