Mr. W. R. Holland has been appointed deputy general manager of Stockton-onTees Corporation Transport, replacing Mr. R. M. C. Mr. P. G. James has been appointed a director of The Channel Tunnel Company, replacing Mr. P. H. Shirley, who has resigned.

Mr. Lewis Leeder has been appointed within the transport maintenance division of Initial Services Ltd. as acting area transport manager of the Greater London and Eastern area. Mr. John F. Carroll has been appointed manager of product for International Harvester Company of Great Britain Ltd. and will be based at the company's London office at 259 City Road, London. Ed. As manager of product. Mr. Carroll will be responsible for initiating design and development of new products and for modifying existing ranges where necessary.

Mr. E. Walton has been appointed sales manager of Autolifts and Engineering Co. Ltd., of Blackburn. He joined Autolifts in 1950 as a cost accountant and in recent years has been northern area sales manager.

Mr. Dennis Smith, at present the North-eastern and Scottish region manager for Primrose Engineering Co., and previously sales manager of TGB Motors Ltd., of Clitheroc, Lancs, has been appointed by Guy Motors Ltd. as area representative for Yorkshire and North-east England, with effect from November 29.

Mr. L. F. J. Carr has accepted an invitation to join the board of Pollard Bearings Ltd., the principal manufacturing subsidiary of the Pollard Group. He is at present general manager of Pollard Bearings.

Mr. L. H. Weaks, director of marketing, International Harvester Company of Great Britain Ltd., is to become assistant to the managing director of International Harvester France. During his 21 years in Britain as director of marketing, Mr. Weaks has been a driving force behind the British company's improved sales position (1391 m. in 1964 compared with £32.1 m. in 1962). New programmes during his term of office have included the setting up of a motor truck plant at Carr Hill Works, Doncaster, where International Loadstar truck production has just started.

Mr. Eric Hall has been appointed sales manager, Midlands, for India Tyres Ltd. in succession to the late Mr. L. A. McConnell. Mr. Hall joined India Tyres in 1930 as a general representative in Swansea. In 1950 he became assistant district manager, Cardiff, then followed appointments as district manager, Eastern Counties, in 1954 and district manager, Birmingham. in 1964. Mr. J. H. Adler, deputy chief engineer of SPD Ltd.. has been appointed chief engineer in succession to Mr. C. A. Reid, who has retired after 46 years' service.

Mr. A. Baker, at present assistant engineer of Bristol Omnibus Co. Ltd.. has been appointed chief engineer of Thames Valley Traction Co. Ltd. and its associates with effect from January 1, 1966.
