Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

From a Special Correspondent WHEN experimental liner trains left YV London and Glasgow at almost the same moment on Monday night both were, for the first time, carrying small quantities of commercial freight in addition to the loads of old rails used as ballast during trials. The northbound train also had a dynamometer wagon for test purposes.

The southbound train with about 30 containers had three with genuine traffic --43 tons of paper, canned and bottled beer and firebricks—while the northbound Freightliner frum York Way, Camden Town, had just under 30 tons or metals, foodstuffs and confectionery in three of its containers.

MI the freight was brought into the terminals by British Railways cartage vehicles (mainly new articulated outfits bought specially to service the new project) and there was no interference with the operations by NUR members, who had earlier been given an assurance that the c. and d. would not be undertaken by private hauliers—whose access to the liner trains' terminals is implacably opposed by the union.

The services between York Way and Gushetfaulds have been carrying more small consignments of commercial freight during this week and it remains to be seen at what stage British Railways implements its stated intention to admit private hauliers to depots.
