CUR. H. R. ROWLANDS has been appointed a member of the West Midlands Transport Users' Consultative Committee.

MR, H. W. SYDENHAM has succeeded MR. H. R. WHITE as chairman of Duple Motor Bodies, Ltd. Mr. White retains his scat on the board.

MR. W. C. GIBBS, director and general manager of Henley's Tyre and Rubber Co., Ltd., has completed 40 years service with the company. He became assistant general manager in 1936, general manager in 1942 and joined the board in 1947.

LORD NUFFIELD has agreed to he nominated for the presidency of the Motor and Cycle Trades Benevolent Fund for 1955—the jubilee year.

MR. A. K. BUTCHER, who is serving in the Scottish (North) Traffic Area, is to succeed MR. A. E. Citaws, certifying officer in the Northern Traffic Area, when Mr. Challis retires next January. MR. A. E. HAINES, A.M.I.Mech.E., has been appointed certifying officer and will succeed Mr. Butcher at Aberdeen.

MR. J. LILLIF.-COSTELLO has been appointed public relations manager of Shell-Mex and B.P., Ltd. He will control a newly formed public relations department which will extend the services hitherto given by the Press and information section of the trade relations department. Mr. Lillie-Costello was until recently director of information services in the Gold Coast.

MR. A. H. PENDREE, assistant general sales manager, has been appointed general sales manager of the Goodyear Tyre and Rubber Co. (Great Britain), Ltd., and MR. MILTON S. MEYER, director of sales. Mr. Meyer was previously manager of the Near East and African division of the Goodyear concern. MR. DONALD Gow has been elected financial director. He became secretary after the war.
