DAWSON RENTALS has taken delivery of 100 MAN TGM rigids for its expanding fleet of refrigerated and ambient trucks.
The Milton Keynes-based rental firm has acquired some 150 rigid MANs in the past 12 months, on top of 250 MAN tractor units taken on over the same period. MAN now accounts for one fifth of the Dawson fleet.
Group MD Steve Miller says: “These weren’t the cheapest vehicles offered to us; but we have had good support from the MAN team and that has helped considerably. “We do see vehicle manufacturers getting into rental activities in their own right, including MAN themselves, but while that makes us a little uncomfortable, we believe there is a world of difference between what they can do and what [we] offer.”
