Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

POLICE ARE hunting a gang who attempted to trick a driver into leaving his vehicle so that they could steal his cargo of cigarettes.

The incident happened at around llam on 11 May in Barton Street, Gloucester. As the driver was unloading his vehicle he was approached by a man who told him thieves had stolen his keys and jacket from the cab and run into an alleyway. He took the driver in that direction and then ran off.

Realising he had been tricked into leaving his vehicle the driver returned to it to find the security wrapping had been cut on a crate containing cigarettes.

The suspect who distracted the driver was a white man in his late 30s with short,dark brown,straight hair, of medium build and with an Irish accent. He was wearing blue jeans and a black quilted anorak.

His accomplices who stole the keys and jacket are believed to have left the scene in a red car, driving along Barton Street into Trier Way.
