• Warnings by Transcare managers to staff that valuable work for Marks & Spencer could be withdrawn if drivers and warehousing staff took action over pay, have paid off.
Two of the company's depots in Durham and Rochdale voted by a narrow margin last week against taking industrial action.
The 280 staff have accepted Transcare's "rejigged" offer of a 2.1% increase with a lump sum of up to £250 (CM 12-18 May).
