Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• A traffic lane giving priority to HGVs and buses is to begin operating in two weeks' time in South London to ease congestion for lorries leaving New Covent Garden market.

The 300m route along Nine Elms Road leading to the heavily congested Vauxhall Cross is to be coloured red, says John Stone, group engineer, transportation, at Wandsworth Borough Council.

Between 07:00-19:00hrs Monday to Saturday the lane will be reserved for HGVs over 7.5 tonnes, buses, taxis and cyclists.

This follows the creation of London's first lorry/bus priority lane in North London on 16 February. The 500m route, which also gives priority to lorries, buses, taxis and cyclists, runs up Muswell Hill to Muswell Broadway and operates from 07:00-10:00hrs and 16:00-19:00hrs Monday to Friday.
