Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

MULTIDEVELOPMENTS (Yorkshire) Ltd is producing a lightweight multipurpose commercial vehicle known as the MDV, as a low-cost alternative to conventional vans and pick ups.

Its range of body options includes a pick-up with drop sides or tailgate and optional hard or soft top, a flat-back body (pictured) or van with double rear doors.

MDV's are powered by BL's transversely mounted 1300cc Metro engine, four-speed synchromesh gearbox, and running gear. Its front suspension uses the BL Hydragas system while leaf springs with shock absorbers are fitted at the rear.

The ladder type chassis frame is of tubular steel while the bodywork incorporates aluminium alloy panels and a wooden floor section.

Priced at around £3,000, the MDV van offers a maximum payload of 1,016kg (20cwt) and a load space of 2.52cum (90cuft).

Four MDVs in flat body form have been bought by the City of Bradford Metropolitan Council.
