THE LEAD/ACID battery is Ii to remain as the power so for the electric vehicle accon to Don Gribble of the Els Vehicle Association.
Speaking in Plymouth at Exhibition organised jointly the EVA and the South Wes Electricity Board Mr Gribble that he did not see the sodil sulphur battery being avail( as a commercial basis during 1980s.
However he predicted t within two years, the "sec, generation" high energy den lead/acid cells will give a veh range of up to 115km (70 mile According to Mr Gribble represented a doubling in rai over a five year period.
He suggested that this provement in range is not du( micro-chip development but improvements in the way power is supplied to the r wheels.
