ever mind 44 tonnes, intermodal transport and satellite communications, the future of international transport, nay, intergalactic transport is coming to a cinema near you. "Space Truckers" stars Dennis Hopper as a driver who makes his living ferrying square pigs across the galaxy for Interpork. Fairly humdrum work until he is offered a bit on the side smuggling a one-off cargo of "sex dolls" back to the home planet, with a bonus of five-times the agreed rate if he delivers on time. The job means avoiding the usual shipping lanes and risking hi-jacking in bandit country where the Scum Cluster hang out. The plot may sound depressingly familiar to anyone who has had to negotiate recent shenanigans in Europe.
