SOMEONE who senses that The Sun is not my preferred reading but thinks I should know how the ruling class lives, has sent me some pages from it. Most of page 3 is occupied by the picture of a well-nourished 17-year-old who drives a lorry driver to distraction. Where he drives other road users while in that overwrought state, I shudder to think.
Then there is a story that illustrates the redistribution of both pelf and pelt in a caring society. A lorry driver was able to pay £1,000 to have his wife's bust enlarged and £25 a year to insure her new silicone silhouette for £1,500.
Another page assures me that "Lady lorry drivers have a loads of fun." One of them would not contemplate marrying anyone but a lorry driver and would insist on going to the church in her lorry. That would make her husband a back-seat driver from the start.
