Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

THE FIRST Scandinavian facility of its kind — a freight "hotel" offering short-term warehousing and ancillary services — is now nearing completion in Oslo.

Purpose built at a cost of over £1 30m the OVD terminal is located, partly underground, on the site of a former rock quarry in the suburb of Ulven

The first stage, including the first of three high-bay warehouses is shortly to be commissioned. It will provide space to -bedup to 6000 pallets.

OVD services — the capital investment in the project is shared by a large Norwegian insurance group and a bank — not only cover warehousing and storage but extend to the provision of offices (again short term and fully staffed if required), order picking and distribution services and computerised documentation.

Users at all times retain the flexibility to choose and -pay for only those services needed at the time.

The scheme allows leasing of a single pallet space or of several hundred. OVD does not own or operate lorries but has retained a number of Oslo-based hauliers .for AD HOC services.

As an example, the cost of a single pallet space is given as N Kr 288 a year (around £25). This increases to N Kr 2-per day or N Kr 60 (£5.25) per month for the shorter term.

In addition, the terminal charges deposit and recovery fees for each pallet range from N Kr 13 to 25 depending on frequency of movement.

OVD will be rail-connected by 1981, when it is expected to be fully operational, with two additional high-bay sections each capable of storing 15.000 goods-carrying pallets.
