PIOBIL drivers have settled for a new basic rate of £105 per reek, putting them ahead of other tanker drivers, most of rhom are on £92 per week with other companies.
The new basic rates in Mobil's marketing operations and aviation ?ctions will range from around £100 to £112 and will be effective am May.
Shift rates of 15 per cent for a two-shift system and 30 per cent cr seven-day coverage work out at El 6.85 and £33.71 respecvely. Holidays for those with service of 20 years or more will be icreased to five weeks next year, and a £75 holiday bonus for verybody has been agreed.
It is claimed that the change in Mobil's review date from ovember (when other companies settle) to May has ensured that te company's drivers have not lost out, and the settlement is xpected to strengthen the bargaining power of other drivers later us year.
