Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

The third edition of Schumers' Elements of transport is now available from Butterworth and Co. (Publishers) Ltd., 88 Kingsway, London, W.C.2, price 35s, postage 1s 3d extra.

Although this book is printed in Australia, Mr. L. A. Schumer, the author, claims that his outline of the significant features of transport is applicable to any country. Nevertheless, against the broad pattern of transport the variations that may be influenced by local conditions are described.

All forms of transport are examined in the 211 pages of this paper-backed book, including a chapter devoted specifically to road transport.

This book is on the list of suggested reading for Institute of Transport students. The increased interest in transport education is indicated by the fact that the first edition came out in 1954, the second 1964—and now the third only four years later. S.B.
