:ismet Ltd. of I3edford, has announced the ddition of a headlight tester to its range of liagnostic equipment. Originally designed for nstallation in the MoT Goods Vehicle 'esting Stations, Kismet is now making them variable on the open market.

The "Universal" Headlight Tester has been leveloperi from Kismet's single and multiell models which are already widely used hroughout the garage and motor industry loth in the UK and on the Continent. It has ieen designed for the precision testing and djustment of all known types of lamps on ioth cars and commercial vehicles and is vailable either as a semi-permanent intallation on rails, or as a completely iortable model, both models being identical xcept for the base mounting.

Among its main features is a large 10in. ilano-convex collimating lens which is et in a robust casing. This lens, which irojects with extreme clarity the beam lattern on to a perspex screen calibrated both lorizontally and vertically, is designed to inable precise adjustment of both "hotpotand asymmetric headlamps. Behind he screen is mounted a photoelectric unit vhich enables the assessment of relative ght intensity as well as locating the *int of highest intensity within a hot-spot learn for directional purposes.

The support assembly is mounted on a ieavy-duty base and incorporates a unique pring counterbalance to facilitate raising and )wering the head. Additionally a calibrating tend is provided to enable the unit head to le set level to the floor area, fade by: Kismet Ltd., Fenlake Works, Beds.
