A.D.V. Crook has been appointed marketing manager of Small and Parkes Ltd, manufacturer of Don friction materials, and a member of the Cape Asbestos Group. Mr. Crook was previously with the Crown Cork Company.

V.G. Sherren has succeeded the Earl of Drogheda as chairman of Industrial and Trade Fairs Holdings Ltd. and of three of its subsidiary companies. Industrial and Trade Fairs Ltd.. Lord Drogheda remains on the board of Industrial and Trade Fairs Holdings as deputy chairman and also remains on the board of the subsidiary companies. Mr. Sherren is a director of International Publishing Corporation Ltd. and chairman of lliffe-NTP International Ltd. Sir Gordon Newton editor of the Financial Times and a director of Financial Times Ltd., has joined the boards of Industrial Trade Fairs Holdings and of its subsidiary companies.

D.H. Pillinger, 43 has been appointed to the board of Mintex Ltd.. Cleckheaton, Yorks, a member of the BBA Group of Companies. Mr. Pillinger has been general sales manager since January.

R. F. Richard has been promoted to vice-president of operations for the Domestic division of Cummins Engine Co. Ltd. based in Indiana, USA. Mr. Richard has been in the UK since 1966, initially as director, international manufacturing, and latterly as vice-president and managing director of Cummins Engine Co. Ltd., the UK subsidiary.

A. C. Robson, chairman and managing director of Graham and Roberts Ltd., following the acquisition of that company, has now been appointed to the board of the Appleyard Group of Companies.

,OBITUARY

We record with regret the death of Harold Samuel Benjamin Beale. and Kenneth K. Haynes.

Mr. Beale, 54, who was killed in a flying accident, was service director of H. A. Saunders Ltd. He joined the company in 1946 at the High Wycombe branch, becoming branch manager in 1962 and being appointed to the board in 1965.

Mr. Haynes, 63. who died suddenly on Saturday. had been managing director of Kenning Car Mart Ltd. since 1965. He rejoined the company after the war as an executive in the commercial vehicle department.
