Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

THERE was an unexpectedly large attendance of the public at the first rally of old commercial vehicles held last Sunday at Beaulieu, Hampshire, by the courtesy of Lord Montagu.

There were 30 entrants in the three classes, representing vehicles built between 1896-1916; 1917-1930; 19311945. They competed for challenge cups and prizes of £15, 110 and £5 in each class, the latter given by Lord Montagu. The judges were Mr. R. Gresham Cooke, M.A., C.B.E., M.P., Mr. G. Mackenzie Turner, editor, The Commercial Motor and Mr. Philip Edwards, editor. Motor Transport.

The star of the parade was the Model T Ford van driven by Mr. R. B. Stay, which was first in Class II and obtained the highest marks of any class.

The variety of the entrants was surprising, including as it did a replica of an early Leyland steam lawn mower, Burrel, Foden and Tasker steam tractors, a Renault two-cylinder London taxi, a Gobron Brine fire engine, a Daimler 2-tonner, and another with the body in the form of a Bass bottle, whilst more modern types were represented by an Austin van, and a Scammell Mechanical Horse.

During the judging an open meeting for all interested was held in the Domus, Beaulieu Abbey, as a first step towards the formation of a veteran and vintage commercial vehicle club, possibly on the lines of that organized for cars.

it was agreed that an ad hoe committee should investigate the possibilities , of such a club and the following were elected members:—Sir Henry Spurrier (Leyland Motors Ltd.); Mr. A. B. Fuller (Taskers of Andover (1932), Ltd.); Mr. 1. H. Sparshatt (J. H. Sparshatt and Sons, Ltd.); Rev. Atkinson (secretary, Trojan Club); Lord Montagu of Beaulieu; Mr. A. Gray; . Mr. J. Adams (George Bristow Ltd.); Mr. G. Mackenzie Junner (editor, The Commercial Motor).

At an informal meeting after the rally, Sir Henry Spurrier suggested that the committee should meet at Earls Court in October, with a view to preparing a report on the subject.
