Developing a customer focused service.
Keeping the world's premier international airport on the move requires a major transport operation involving over 500 vehicles some of them highly specialised. The development of our transport operations form an integral part of our strategic business plan and is key to the dynamic growth of our highly successful commercial business.
We now seek a Transport Services Manager to bring a new customer focus to our Motor Transport activities and act as a catalyst for change and improved efficiency. You will look at the whole operation with a particular view to more efficient scheduling of workload and enhanced service standards. Managing your own budget, you will investigate and satisfy customer requirements, question the status quo and implement a service culture throughout a large team of mainly LGV drivers. A whole diverse variety of services are provided to user-clients ranging from staff transit to aircraft stand degreasing and drainage clearance by your team. You will need a National Certificate of professional competence for road transport operation and an appropriate vocational qualification. Also an HNC or equivalent in automotive engineering would be desirable. Your confident, pro-active management style and organising ability must be complemented by analytical skills, sound judgement and initiative. A natural team manager and motivator, you must have a successful track record in developing customer relations within an industrial environment and managing change.
