by Roger Brown THE ADMINISTRATOR for Bulmers Logistics, Deloitte, has confirmed the company folded with debts of around £10m.

Bulmers Logistics entered a pre-packaged administration on 21 January, and, following a management buyout (MBO), which was led by managing director Johnathan Bulmer. who acquired the trade and assets of the old firm for an undisclosed sum, Bulmers Transport was created Mack of funding leads to Bulmers' administration', CM 29 January).

Documents filed to Companies House show that on 23 December 2008, a firm called Regional Transport Services was incorporated as a private company, based in Malton,North Yorkshire, with Johnathan Bulmer named as director and company secretary.

On 13 January, the name of Regional Transport Services was changed to Bulmers Transport.

Deloitte says as part of the administration of the old company, secured creditors will be paid, but the chances of unsecured creditors receiving any payment are "slim': A Bulmers creditor, who did not wish to be named, tells CM: "I run a small business and have been trading with Bulmers for three years I am owed about £600.

"1 definitely won't see that again and I'm sure there are a lot of people in a similar position." A spokesman for Deloitte says: "The situation is disappointing, but at least 200 jobs have been saved as a result of Bulmers Transport being formed."

Bulmers Transport is closing its offices based in Hull and Immingham, making about 50 staff redundant. The firm is also reducing its fleet of vehicles down to 144.

However, 200 retained staff will transfer across to the new company under TUPE regulations, and Bulmers Transport will be run from existing offices in Ipswich and Middlesbrough.
