Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

needed proof that some motorway service station operators are out to target lorry drivers, the Bob Painter story is it, insists an angry Barnes who once forked out £250 to get his own car released after unwittingly parking illegally in London.

"At Knutsford, they are just getting money out of trucks. If that's not the case, why aren't those cars, caravans and coaches that park in HGV bays not clamped as well?

"This is a big problem for many drivers. Just where are they supposed to park in order to go to the loo?

I've come close to being clamped at South Mimms services on the M25, but I was back in the cab and gone before they had a chance."

Despite this Barnes believes drivers who persistently park Illegally should be made to pay the fee themselves, on the grounds that they are professionals who are responsible for their vehicles at all times.

"In the interests of getting the truck moving again," he says, "it would probably be paid by the company. But there should be a clause in a driver's contract saying he would have to pay it either weekly or in a lump sum.

"If they carried on parking illegally, they should face disciplinary action."
