Repair and maintenance (R&M) padoges may be provided in addition to the standard vehide warranty and vary in terms (miles/years) and exclusions. Independent audit may be induded. Bespoke packages are usually negotiable. However, just be sure of what you're getting. The following are examples of packages provided, rather than a detailed analysis.

• Daf: CF or XF models are supplied with a three-year standard preventative maintenance contract. (LFs have a different inclusive package.) The company also provides an R&M package and recommends an upgrade to the R&M contract, This typically runs from years three to five and up to seven years, and includes all MoTs and independent audits.

• Foden: R&M contracts are available on all models, either as part of a new vehicle purchas( or within a contract-hire package provided through Paccar Financial. Foden will quote for any contract period with servicing through its UK dealer network. R&M packages can include tyric if required by the operator and also any ancillary equipment.

• lveco: The "Costcare Dimensions" package comes in Bronze, Silver and Gold varieties. Periods range from one to seven years. Bronze is a maintenance-only package that includes safety inspections, scheduled services, annual MoT plus a biennial tacho check. Silver is a full repair and maintenance package and includes all the bronze elements plus extras such roadside repair and recovery. Gold includes a replacement vehicle, specifically for nonscheduled repairs over 24 hours for up to 10 days in each contract year.

II MAN/ ERF: All MAN L2000 models are delivered with an inclusive one-year R&M packag€ All other vehicles, including ERF models, are supplied with a two-year package. This include: MoTs and legal inspections and is typically extendable by negotiation, according to operator requirements.

• Mercedes-Benz: The three-level package offers maintenance; repair and maintenance; oi repair and maintenance plus. The first covers routine servicing, ministry inspections and anni MoT test. The second includes all the basic items, plus mechanical repair and replacement of wear and tear items. The third typically includes all previous items, plus ancillary equipmer support such as tail-lift or fridges. and collection and delivery.

• Renauft: "Fully-flexible" R&M packages are available on both new and used Renault mod for varying periods, and with varying degrees of content depending on operator requirement from standard servicing to fully comprehensive including glass and tyres. (A separate full twc year R&M package is included in the price of all new Magnums.) • Scania: Every vehicle is delivered with a two-year R&M contract. It includes brake linings and clutches and MoT but excludes damage, legislation changes and fuel. Typical extensio last until year six, and bespoke packages are available. Fixed menu servicing is available an bespoke pay-as-you-go packages to suit owner-operators are also available.

II Volvo: Three-level packages include Blue, Silver and Gold. Blue is preventative maintenar including servicing, legal requirements and MoT. Silver includes all this plus driveline. Gold is the bumper-to-bumper full maintenance contract. Ancillary equipment can be added. Typic( contracts last up to five years and are often extended until year seven.
