Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

KENT-BASED TIPPER cover specialistTranscover has launched an automatic side-to-side sheeting system which is said to meet the legal requirement for covering loads in transit.

As site operations become increasingly safety-conscious, tipper operators have struggled to reconcile the legal obligation for loads to be covered with the need to keep drivers safely in their cabs. Transcover claims to have the answer.

The Hydraeover, which is available for artic and rigid tippers, is driven by an electro-hydraulic motor. Hollow aluminium or steel arches above the front and rear of the body house hydraulic rams which turn central drive flanges through a sturdy rack-and-pinion arrangement.

These in turn are connected to curved sheet-carrying arms which are attached to one side of the sheet; in the centre of the sheet is roller blind-type tensioner.

On rigids the whole operation can be completed from the driving seat; on artics control is either by a trailer-mounted switch or by a remote control in the cab.

Transcover reckons the cost is comparable with existing competitors.
