Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• One of the country's largest chains of tyre fitters has been fined £13,000 for running what Yorkshire

environmental health inspectors described as a potentially lethal workshop.

Magistrates heard that staff at the Scarborough branch of National Tyre Services were subjected to regular electric shocks in a workshop which had leaking roofs and puddles on the floor.

Branch manager Philip Bayley told the court that the workshop's electrical fittings had not been checked in 20 years. He recounted one instance last summer when he was hurled to the Floor by a shock when removing a tyre from a metal rack.
